What was characteristical for the N Model was its flat shape, very practical for full-scape graphics. It was the only type with vertical cut. This cutting style was taken from gas balloons design, where it was important to minimize the length of joints. However, in the hot-air balloon systems this has no significant use.
Vertical panel cut leads to higher fabric consumption for manufacturing, which makes the whole system more expensive than e.g. the Z Model. The cut also gets more difficult to be repaired.
The N Model is suitable for special kinds of graphics. Apart from this, it was more or less replaced by the Z Model.
